A Preparatory Guide for Self Improvement

By: Bee Yourself

Life is not always so very demanding; there are times when we can loosen up. Most times, we are more involved in thinking about things that we do not have, despite our contentment. But yes, there are times when such thoughts are unavoidable.

There are times when we need to think about something much more profound than we already do.

Problems are ubiquitous, and we cannot run away from them. In fact, these problems should not worry us at all, leave alone ruling our lives. One of the ways of forgetting our problems is to continue living in the dreams we wove as children. These dreams could be temporal, or they could last throughout our lives. But they should be there. They should be practical. These are the things we need to ask ourselves.

  • What are our real aspirations?

This is definitely the most frequently asked question. We seldom understand what we really want because we are busy trying to pack as much as we can in the little time that we have got.

One solution would be to identify the one thing we really want which is a bit accordant with the skills we possess. Once we know this thing, we must pursue it with all the fervor we can muster.

  • Is change necessary in our lives?

The concept of self has vastly changed in today's times. People need much more out of their lives than they already have. They want much more out of themselves too. And that we can very well see in the youngsters around us. What you have to see is whether you can incorporate any such changes in the way you live.

One of the best workable ideas would be to teach your tricks to others and learn the tricks of others. Why does this help? Because you do not feel much left out then. You feel part of the group that you are with. If you can show them something of your own, and in return learn something from them, it will go a long way in proving yourself interesting and acceptable to them.

  • Why must we do the things that we are doing?

There is no time today to even be optimistic about things. Hope is something quite elusive, something that might happen at some point in the future. And even in hope, we can see some peril. But that's not the way it should be. If there are difficulties in your way, try converting them into opportunities.

  • Do our lives satisfy us?

When we are accessorizing our clothes, there is always a way to do it. That is because when we clothe ourselves, we are setting a personality for ourselves. If we do not do that, all of us will just look duplicates of each other. That is why change is necessary. We need to bring variety in the way we are and the way we look, and must even experiment with ourselves in order to set ourselves apart from the rest of the world.

  • Are we doing what we can for ourselves?

One of the most important things to think about is whether you are doing your maximum for your own self? There is no purpose achieved by being unhappy in things. But discontentment in small measure can actually help you achieve things that you want.

  • What is our happiness ratio?

It is not worth pondering over this question much, because things are not going to change. The best way out is to think positive and to try and improve our already existing situation. That would help us improve our whole life, in fact.

  • Are we attractive to the opposite gender?

People do put a lot of stock into this thought, and that is why it has become so much important. but appeal is not just about physical looks. If you think you are not looking too good, you can always make a few changes. Changing your personality is also not too difficult. If it helps you to gel well with the opposite sex, go ahead and do it.

  • What are the limits we can achieve?

One can never have too much or too little; it is very difficult to pinpoint such things. The main question is not about the quantity of things you have, but it is more about how badly you need the things. It's not even wholly about money; it is more about how much effort you are going to put in to get at that money.

  • What is our prime motivating factor?

Everyone, without exception, has some driving force that makes things happen for them. You have to search your own force within you. That could be difficult, but it is not impossible. Your driving force should make you a person that makes everyone around you proud of you. Your motivating force could be a single thing, or you might derive your motivation from a whole lot of things. Just make sure what really motivates you.

  • What is it that keeps our clock going?

Finally, you have to comprehend what it is that really sets you going. It might be something that you wish to be, or it could be something that you are on your way to attaining. The main thing is that you are driving yourself towards getting that goal. And that is what self-improvement is all about. It includes several things, and the prime are the body and mental changes you go when you are on your quest of achievement.
